This privacy policy applies to the MovieHub 4k app for mobile devices created by MovieHub Developer as a free service. This service is intended for use AS IS.

MovieHub 4k stores collections, favorites, watch history, personal ratings, notes, quiz progress, achievements, onboarding status, and AI chat consent locally on the device. This local app data is not synced to a cloud account by MovieHub 4k.

The Application uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API to search for movies and TV shows, load popular titles, fetch title details, show poster and backdrop images, and display watch provider availability for the user's region. Search text and requested TMDB title IDs may be sent to TMDB only to provide these movie and TV features.

AI Chat is optional and blocked until the user explicitly agrees in the app. When AI Chat is used, the Application sends the text of each user message, a chat_id created when the chat session starts, and a fixed system_prompt about movies and TV shows to OpenRouter Chat proxy, a third-party AI chat service hosted on Railway at freeopenrouterchat-production.up.railway.app.

This data is sent only to generate movie and TV chat responses and recommendations. The AI chat service acts as a third-party service provider/processor for this feature and is expected to protect the submitted data under the same or equivalent confidentiality and security commitments described in this Privacy Policy.

The AI chat backend may retain conversation history server-side using chat_id so the conversation can continue across app launches. Users can revoke AI chat data sharing in Settings. When revoked, MovieHub 4k resets the local chat session and blocks future AI requests until the user agrees again.

The Application may process technical information needed to operate the service, such as device network requests, app usage timing, operating system version, and error states. The Application does not require user accounts, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.

The Application does not gather precise location information. The Where to Watch section uses the device region setting, defaulting to US when no region is available.

The Application shares data with third parties only as needed to provide app features: TMDB for movie and TV data, and OpenRouter Chat proxy for optional AI Chat after explicit consent. The Service Provider may also disclose information as required by law, to protect user safety, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

You can stop local collection by uninstalling the Application. You can disable AI chat data sharing in Settings, which resets the local AI chat session and prevents further AI chat requests unless you agree again.

Local collections, favorites, history, ratings, notes, quiz data, and achievements remain on the device until deleted by the user or the app is uninstalled. AI chat conversation continuity may be retained by the AI chat service using chat_id as described above.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personally identifiable information, contact the Service Provider at moviehub@gmail.com so appropriate action can be taken.

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of information processed and maintained by the Application and uses reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. You are advised to consult this page regularly for changes, as continued use is deemed approval of changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-05-27.

By using the Application, you consent to the processing described in this Privacy Policy. AI Chat requires a separate explicit in-app agreement before any AI chat network request is made.
